During the second step of the Apple App Store Publishing process of you app AppMachine might run into a problem.
This article gives you additional information how to solve issues if they might appear.

1. Failed to start iOS build

If you see this error, please contact support@appmachine.com where you include the appname, appnumber and the email address of your account at AppMachine.




2. App name you entered is already being used


if you see this error, it means that your app name which you have entered in the App Vitals is already being used by another app in the Apple App store.
You should either change the App Name in your App vitals section or, if you are the owner of the name, you can submit a claim in the apple app store.

  1. Check the app name you entered in the App vitals section in the bottom right corner of you Publish dashboard.
  2. Check which app name you reserved at the Apple App Store Connect when you created the app following the guidelines in this article.
    1. Login with your Apple developer account on https://appstoreconnect.apple.com/..
    2. Once logged in, open the My Apps section.
    3. Click on the correct app and open in the left side menu the option App information > Name.
      in this case you might have a different name mentioned in the app store connect then in the App vitals section in AppMachine. In that case you should copy the name from the App Store Connect to AppMachine > App Vitals > App Name

3. Copy the Name from the App Store connect to your App Vitals section and click Save.


3. You must have published answers to your app's data usages

If you see this error during the Uploading of your app to the App Store, it means that you have not filled in all the required information regarding App Privacy in the App Store connect. Follow the steps below to fix the issue. 


  1. Login with your Apple developer account on https://appstoreconnect.apple.com/
  2. Once logged in, open the My Apps section.

    * If you're a member of multiple developer teams, then make sure that you've switched to the correct developer team via the account menu in the top-right corner of the screen.

  3. Click on the correct app and open in the left side menu the option App privacy.
  4. See if you have entered all the required information. For all the datatypes you have selected, you need to make sure the answers are entered .

    In this usecase you can see that  the Datatype Crash data still needs to be Setup. 
  5. Go back to AppMachine and publish your app again with the blue Publish button int the top right corner of the publish dashboard.



4. Missing App Pricing in the app store

If you see this error, it means that you forgot to enter the App price while creating the App Record in the Apple App Store Connect.




  1. Login with your Apple developer account on https://appstoreconnect.apple.com/
  2. Once logged in, open the My Apps section.

    * If you're a member of multiple developer teams, then make sure that you've switched to the correct developer team via the account menu in the top-right corner of the screen.

  3. Click on the correct app and from the left-side menu, open the Pricing and Availability page
  4. On this page you will be able to select a price tier for your app, as well as specify the countries or regions in which your app will become available once published. 
    We advice you to choose:
    * If you don't plan to sell your app in the Apple App Store choose 0,00(Free)
    choose "all countries or regions selected"
    Use the Save button in the top-right corner of the screen to save your changes.

  5. Go back to AppMachine and publish your app again with the blue Publish button in the top right corner of the publish dashboard.


5. Provide a value for attribute DemoAccountName and demoAccountPassword

If you see this error, it means that your app has a login functionality and that you forgot to share login details with Apple. Apple requires you to share a demo account, so they can check the full functionality of your app. 

  1. Login to AppMachine and open the Publish dashboard. 
  2. In the Apple App Store tile click Edit store info.
  3. Open the group Review information.
  4. Enable the switch Demo account required.
  5. Enter demo account name and password
  6. Click Save..
  7. Publish your app again to the Apple App Store.
