If the monitor for your computer has a resolution width of 1280 pixels then you may have noticed that building an app and using the simulator at the same time can be somewhat cumbersome at times.
For this reason, we suggest that you change the zoom level of your browser to a setting of somewhere around 75%. This is usually two steps down from the actual zoom level of a page. Ultimately it is up to you to choose the zoom level you are most comfortable with.
What follows is a quick guide for changing zoom levels in Chrome, Firefox and Safari:
Chrome:
Use the zoom options in the Chrome menu to make everything on a webpage larger or smaller.
- Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
- Find the "Zoom" section in the menu and choose one of the following options:
- Click the + button to make everything on the page larger. You can also use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl and + (Windows, Linux, and Chrome OS) and ⌘ and + (Mac).
- Click the - button to make everything smaller. You can also use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl and - (Windows, Linux, and Chrome OS) and ⌘ and - (Mac).
Safari:
Use the zoom options in the View menu or use the keyboard shortcuts.
- Go to the "View" menu and choose "Zoom In" or "Zoom Out" to adjust your view.
- Use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl and + (Windows, Linux, and Chrome OS) and ⌘ and + (Mac). Use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl and - (Windows, Linux, and Chrome OS) and ⌘ and - (Mac).
Firefox:
You can zoom in and out of individual websites one of two ways.
1. Using the Chrome menu button.
- Click the menu button on the right.
The customisation menu will open and you will see the zoom controls at the top. - Use the + button to zoom in, and the - button to zoom out. The number in the middle is the current zoom level - click it to reset the zoom to 100%.
2. Keyboard shortcuts: You can also use the zoom controls without a mouse. Press and hold command while pressing + to zoom in, - to zoom out, or 0 to reset.
